Baidu CEO says it will defeat Google if it returns to China

Last week, reports surfaced that Google is planning to return to China with censored apps alongside talks about bringing cloud services over as well. Naturally, its biggest rival in China has something to say about that. Baidu CEO Robin Li wrote on his verified WeChat account that if “Google decides to return to China, we are very confident we can just PK and win again.” By PK, he was referencing “player-kill,” Chinese slang that originated as a gaming reference for when you kill another player, usually in a multiplayer role-playing game.

Elon Musk says he might take Tesla private for $420 per share

Elon Musk said on Twitter today that he is “considering” taking Tesla private “at $420,” and that he has secured the funding to do so. In a follow up email sent to Tesla employees, Musk indicated that the tweet was serious, and not just a weed joke. “The reason for doing this is all about creating the environment for Tesla to operate best,” Musk wrote.

Instagram’s co-founders announced that Adam Mosseri, the platform’s vice president of product, is now in charge. Mosseri will oversee all functions of the business and recruit a new executive team, Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger said in a statement. The co-founders announced their departure last week — more than six years after Facebook purchased the company for $1 billion. “We remain excited for the future of Instagram in the coming years as we transition from being leaders at Instagram to being just two users in a billion,” said Systrom and Krieger.
